Cheshire accountancy firms merge
A pair of accountancy firms in mid-Cheshire have merged to create a single multidisciplinary team.
Banks Sheridan, which operates out of Crewe, has joined forces with Nantwich-based Sammons & Co. The newly combined business has a 16-strong team and now operates from Crewe Business Park under the Banks Sheridan name.
Paul Sammons, who heads up Sammons and Co, joins existing Bank Sheridan directors Stuart Banks, David Morris and Darren Walley in the enlarged firm.
Sammons said: “It’s great news for clients of both practises as the merger means that we will be better equipped to handle a wider variety of accountancy and business advisory affairs. However, we will still retain that friendly approach that we have built with our clients as we move the combined business forward.”
Morris added: “Both Banks Sheridan and Sammons and Co are already well-established in the local business community. The breadth of experience we have between the four directors, together with our excellent team, means the professional services we can now provide will be second to none.
“The merger broadens our client base and the new staff structure adds to our existing quality and expertise creating a bigger, stronger and better accountancy firm serving Crewe and Nantwich and the surrounding areas.”
At the same time, Banks Sheridan has announced that director Darren Walley is becoming managing director. Previous managing director Stuart Banks remains as a director with the merged firm, concentrating on client service and advisory matters.
Walley said: “These are exciting times as the merger provides us with a strong foothold from which we aim to expand further in 2017 and beyond, creating more employment opportunities for local people.” Read more
