Home care business to recruit 10,000 care workers

Warrington-based Home Instead Senior Care – the provider of home care for older people – has unveiled plans to recruit 10,000 new care workers.

With a £108m turnover across its network of 195 offices, the Cheshire-run national franchise business provides more than six million hours of relationship-led home care each year, through a team of 9,000 caregivers.

It needs a further 10,000 caregivers across the network by 2020 to meet its future growth plans – but latest Government statistics show the growing recruitment challenge in adult social care, with 90,000 vacant roles and staff turnover rates of almost 30%.

In response, Home Instead wants its brand to become the home care sector’s employer of choice – launching two major new employee initiatives for 2018.
