Tiger Trailers starts expansion plans
Cheshire-based Tiger Trailers has started work on its multimillion-pound factory expansion which is being backed by ongoing funding support from NatWest and Lombard.
Since 2014, the commercial vehicle body and trailer manufacturer has grown to a more than £30m-turnover operation. In a bid to build on this, it is spending £22m on a new site which will be operational by early 2019. Up to 170 jobs will be created.
Tiger Trailers’ rapid growth has led to the company being confirmed as the first trailer manufacturer to become a partner of the Northern Powerhouse. Part of this commitment includes nurturing young talent in the industry, with the business committing to investing in its own apprenticeship scheme.
NatWest and Lombard’s funding support amounts to the tune of £2.9m.
Chris Smith, finance director at Tiger Trailers, said: “The company started with the vision of creating innovative transport products from a Cheshire manufacturing facility. Thanks to ongoing funding from NatWest and Lombard, we have realised our vision and rapidly grown to become one of the UK’s leading trailer and vehicle body manufacturers.
