Fit for Work

Fit for Work

What does it do?

Fit for Work is a free, government-led initiative designed to help people stay in work and return to work after periods of long-term sickness absence.

There are two elements to Fit for Work:

1. Free, expert and impartial work-related health advice via the Fit for Work website and telephone line.
2. Referral to an occupational health professional for employees who have been, or who are likely to be, off sick for four weeks or more.

What will the benefits be for me?
"Fit for Work helps businesses grow through helping to improve their productivity and profitability via effective management of staff sickness absence.

Sickness absence has serious implications for employers and staff so the free support provided by Fit for Work can be invaluable to businesses affected, particularly small businesses that do not have their own occupational health support."
